Webkinz are great! We have a lot of fun with Webkinz and I love that it is a safe website for my kids to have fun on and I don't have to worry. They have been honored again this year with the Wired Kids Best of The Web Award. Way to go Ganz! Are you one of the millions of Webkinz fans? If so post and let us know what you like best about Webkinz and which pets you have. Here is a silly music video about April's pet of the month. Enjoy!

St.Patrick's Day

OK, I know it's been a while since I posted last. It's been crazy busy is all I can say. Yes, I fell victim to the assumption that as the kids got older things would get LESS hectic and busy. OK, don't fall off your chair now. :) Some of us have to learn the hard way I guess.
So, I'm not going to bother trying a catch up post. We are getting ready for St. Patrick's Day at our house. We have fun with St. Patrick's Day. We always set traps and try our best to catch a leprechaun! We haven't managed to catch one of those tricky little guys yet, but there have been quite a few near misses! He always leaves us a note, some leprechaun dust of course, and a few chocolate coins as a thank you for the snack. What do you use as bait in these traps you ask? Well, anything shiny or gold is nice. But we've found that they just can't resist a little Lucky Charms Cereal . The traps have gotten quite elaborate over the years. Last year the kids decided to try a chain reaction technique. They put lots of traps in a row, so if he managed to escape one, he was sure to be caught by one of the others as he began to flee. They are learning to be just as tricky as those little mischievous leprechauns.
We found a book that "I" should have written because it is just like our house on St. Patty's Day and who knew I could be making money off of our St. Patrick's Day tradition! It is called "The Night Before St. Patrick's Day." It's cute though. And I was tickled er, green, to see Family Fun Magazine give some really cute ideas for Leprechaun traps in this months issue. Go to FamilyFun.com and have a look. I think we'll be trying a few of those out ourselves.
Your little one's might enjoy our leprechaun glass as well. (Think magnifying glass.) Take a little construction paper or card stock and cut out two shamrocks. Leave the stem a little long. The stem will be your handle. Cut out the center of the shamrocks. Place some green saran wrap between the shamrocks and glue everything in place. You can add a little gold or green glitter around the edges if you like. Now your little one can look through the Shamrock for Leprechaun tracks, magic dust, or other signs a Leprechaun has been near!
When we aren't setting traps, or tracking the leprechaun's movements, we also enjoy looking for four leaf clovers! We only have a small patch of clover in our yard and it isn't always thawed out by the 17th, so we've created an indoor clover patch. I went to work and made some in the workroom, but you could go to your nearest scrapbook store or scrapbooking friend if you need a little help. I just cut out a bunch of clover, mostly 3 leaves with a few 4 leaves. We like to spread them out on the floor and hunt for the four leaf clovers for good luck!
So there are a few highlights from our St.Patrick's Day festivities. What do YOU do to celebrate St. Patrick's Day? We're always looking for fun things to add! Please share with us!
