Nogg'n Growing

So I took another big leap back in Sept. I don't know what got into me. It was one of those whirlwind decisions that I know was the right one, just..... big. And no I'm not pregnant! (Why is it soo hard for people to accept that? But I know someone who is! ;) giggle) So what I did was grabbed myself up by my bootstraps and marched myself into the nearest college and enrolled in classes. It's kindof funny when I think about it. I often get mistaken for a high school grad. There have been a few really funny insidences there. I even got carded at the Middle School the other day when I went to check out A for an eye Dr. appointment. Then there have been some wierd ones. Like the guy I thought was going to mug me in the parkling lot, at night, in the DARK, but just before I pulled out my pepper spray, turns out he was just trying to hit on me, very badly. So just like in High School, I'm kindof in the middle, between all the groups. My classes are almost half and half. Half adults returning after a number of years, and half high school grads. So I can kind of see things from both perspectives. It makes for some rather interesting situations. For example, registration day. I'm in the fifth line to register for classes and praying that this one won't get shut down and moved to the second floor of another building as well, and I'm finally getting close enough that I can hear people inside the offices registering for their classes. When this highschool kid three people ahead of me goes inside to register. She asks him what classes he wants to register for and he says, "Well, my mom gave me this list of classes, and..." She goes, "WHAT?!" Seriously?! lol. Who's here registering... you or your momma?! We were all politely stiffling our giggles in the hall. lol. I was surprised to see several boys with their mom WITH THEM, registering for classes. (Side Note to all the highschool aged girls: Stay away from those momma's boys! They never do cut that cord completely.) But on the other hand, being that I am a mom, I can see the other side of that coin as well. Was it a mom that knew if she didn't register him for classes he would never get around to doing it himself? Was it a mom with a particularly shy child who couldn't know how to jump through the college hoops of registration without a little guidance? Or was it just that plain old can't let go of her baby mom who went and cried in the parking lot just like the first day of kindergarten? Who knows! It could be me one day. But I can see both sides of the coin. Sometimes that is hard and sometimes it is quite amusing.
So some of the material is comming back to me and other parts it's like I'm seeing it for the very first time, but I know I'm not. But I'm doing fairly well so far (knock on wood). I'm very much like the typical high school grad though, in the fact that I have not declared a major yet. And I have no clue! And it is driving me crazy! I wanted to have it figured out this semester, but it's almost time to register for next semester and I'm no closer to figuring out a major. So as a friend so poiniantly put it, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" Any ideas? or maybe someone needs to just hand me my sign. lol.
So finals are rapidly approaching and it's nice to have the comedic relief of some of those high school grads in my classes. Oh, did I mention my good friend from the registration office? You know the one whose momma gave him a list of classes to register for. Guess who's in my Eng. class? lol. Turns out he's the big class clown. So he keeps us in stitches most nights.
So even though college is very different as an adult some things never change. I've heard all about weed cookies and drunken nights and the typical college stuff. lol. You know, maybe I should have used this post as my compare and contrast paper instead of the one I wrote. oh well. I've gotta run, too much to do and not enough time to do it all in. nothing new I guess.
So with all the crazy changes going on in my life right now, I up and enrolled in college because I guess things weren't crazy enough already. lol. So that's why I'm rarely posting and Mel keeps razzing me because I finally got her to start blogging and I'm dropping off the planet. Can't even find time to check my email. Working, College, Mommy, Callings, Scouting, FIG, Kids HWK, my HWK, housework, etc. etc. etc. Sorry bloggers. I'll learn to swim in a bit and keep up a bit better.
